The Renovation of Confiserie Bachmann Flagship Coffee and Chocolate House

This is the result of the renovation of Confiserie Bachmann flagship coffee and chocolate house in Basel. This beautiful design was created by HHF architects. Confiserie Bachmann is the traditional and most famous chocolate manufacturer in Switzerland. The renovation of this building optimizes its location by reorienting itself anew to not only the street, but also around its corner to the covered passageway with outdoor cafe-eating.

The furniture and the bright colors can create a new openness to the street and the covered passageway. The offsetting mirror system embedded into the main wall reflects diagonally to create perceptive depth and complexity. Even though the space is small, the renovation creates a spacious, yet intimate atmosphere with the use of reflection and color. Besides that, the white color of the shop can create a light and enormous feel that is balanced by chocolate-colored furniture.
