The Queensland Children’s Hospital in Australia

This is the Queensland children’s hospital. This hospital was designed by Australian firms Lyons and Conrad Gargett Architecture. This hospital is located in brisbane’s southbank precint.  The twelve quaternary facility in Queensland children’s hospital accommodates specialist acute and sub acute services together with research and teaching facilities.

This building is designed around the idea of a ‘living tree’. It punctuates the building and connects inside and outside. This building sits in a urban park that serves as a gathering place for the local southbank community. The queensland children’s hospital will have about 71,000sqm of floor space nd 359 beds.  It will due to open in 2014.
