This is one of the gorgeous new stadiums for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. This is The Moses Mabhid Stadium in Durban which was designed by GMP Architekten. It’s an eco-worthy design and really amazing looking at night. This stadium finished construction back in 2009. For FIFA 2010 World Cup, this stadium will host one of the semi-final matches. It has capacity to seat 70,000 during the games.

The design of the stadium is really striking with grand arch overhead. There’s a cable-car rides the arch up to sky deck where the visitors can watch the games from above. The new stadium was in part built from the materials of the old stadium. It used 30,000 cubic meter of concrete demolition material. The roof membrane is PTFE. It’s 50% transparent and provides natural daylight. It also protects the fans below during the matches. This stunning stadium boasts an energy-efficient heating and cooling system. Besides that, this stadium is capable to collect the rainwater. After World Cup, this stadium will be used for other sporting events and concert.
