The Grosvenor Waterside Development is the modern block of flat. It was designed by Make Architects in London. These are two residential buildings that exceptional affordable sustainable home designs with contemporary architecture style. These buildings represented the highest architectural design quality and individuality. The art strategy was integrated into building design from the outset.
Make Architects also collaborated with the artist Claire Woods to design a vast artwork which wraps the two buildings and visually binds them into a striking whole. The design of this building evokes elements of the site’s history. It is etched into the panels so that it flickers in and out of view as prevailing light conditions fluctuate. The buildings are angled in order to maximize the views over the restored Grosvenor Dock.
There’s a private garden on the roof which links the two buildings. Both blocks share a pattern of fenestration with larger windows for the living spaces. The slender vertical and horizontal slots are used to enhance the intimacy of bedrooms and bathrooms. Besides that, the fine tuning of this glazing system has produces an energy efficient façade. It’s 79% solid without compromising the natural lighting of interior spaces.
