The architect has produced a new facade for the building as part of a $52 million upgrade of the site.?There’s the ‘orb’, it’s a dome that likes structure with dynamic LED lighting. It is now the dramatic focal point for the arena. This orb is a central hub for the Entertainment Centre. The orb’s curve almost aligns with the curve of the main arena’s roof.  ? ?

The rolled steel tube and hollow steel sections support the structure. They hollow tube sections piece the orb together. There’re 140 “pillows” of the orb which are comprised of two sheets of Ethylene tetrafluoroethylene, or EFTE heat welded and clamped together. There’re two LED lights which are clipped to the structure underneath each pillow. EFTE, a polymer, was chosen as it is lighter and better conforms to twisting than glass and with the white outer layer, provides UV protection below. Besides that, there’re also the dynamic lights that animate the orb with 16 million colours and patterns. They dynamic LED lighting.
