This is the clean modern house, The Palmira House which is located on the coast of Indian Ocean. It’s placed in coconut grove. This handcrafted home uses local sustainable materials. The structure of this house is made from the material harvested on site or nearby. Then, the superstructure is made from ain woof, a local wood. It was constructed using traditional interlocking joinery.
Then, the designer, Studio Mumbai Architects wrapped the building with handmade louvers that is made of palmyra palm trunk. It’s also a hardy local tree. The stone foundation was also locally-sourced. This beautiful home uses the ancient technique old having an open skin to shed latent heat. There’s an aqueduct that weaves thorough the grounds and ends at a pool between two offset structure. The interior of this house is austere. It provides a calming sense inside the house.
