HOK London Office : The Functional Design

Combines_Design_by_HOK_London_Office_01HOK London Office is located in Central London. The design is combines embody functional design and sustainability. It’s the first office space that established by the U.S. Green Building Council. This 20,000- square-foot building has achieved LEED Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI) Gold certification. It’s the most recent of the architectural design firm’s 11 LEED-certified offices.

The open-plan layout incorporates numerous breakout and conference areas. It create an inspiring atmosphere that allows the staff work flexibly. HOK London considered the recycled content of materials achieving 32% of the total project cost. Then, it also chose regional materials (37% of the project cost) that reduced the transportation distance of materials to the site. The sustainable provenance of all timber used was verified at 72% by using FSC (Forest Stewardship Council). The materials, finishes and furniture with low formaldehyde and VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) were also specified in order to improve interior environmental air quality.
